Jim Williams – Personal Trainer

Jim Williams has been training clients at Clifton College’s gyms for over 7 years and has a wealth of experience in the fitness industry. Prior to founding JW Fitness Solutions in 2004, Jim played professional cricket for Glamorgan County Cricket Club; additionally, he is an experienced distance runner, having completed the London Marathon in 2005, 2007 and 2008 and is also a keen cyclist, both on and off road.

Jim offers one-to-one personal training, ‘buddy training’ and also runs extremely popular Circuits Classes @ Clifton College on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm.

In addition to running JW Fitness Solutions, Jim is responsible for the fitness and conditioning training of Sports Scholars at Clifton College, where he also coaches cricket, rugby, hockey, rugby fives and teaches PE.

Shaun Langson – Personal Trainer

Shaun has been working in the fitness industry for over 7 years, during which time he has built an excellent reputation for working with people with a wide range of fitness levels. He trains his clients hard, pushing them to their limits and encouraging them to get great results.

Whether training in the gym or outside, everyone should have a goal. Shaun’s personal goal is to keep fit and train hard for his sport, karate. This has helped him represent his country in the European Championships and he has won a number of titles at the English, British and European Championships.

Shaun has been able to compete at this high level of karate by understanding how to specifically train and condition his body. Stephanie Jenkins – Personal Trainer & Massage Therapist

Stephanie has been providing personal training and sports massage therapy for over 6 years, and competing in a variety of sports for longer than she wishes to admit! Initially dressage and eventing was the main focus, whilst playing Hockey to regional standard and triathlon tagged alongside a very busy and well organised schedule. Two full club colours at University ensued in Rowing and Women’s Rugby. Once settled in Bristol 9 years ago running became the main discipline which led to triathlon and a passion to cycling.

Building on her own experience through competitive sports, working with a diverse list of clients young to mature ranging from the novice to Olympian athlete, Stephanie provides training & massage to suit your ability, goals and needs.  Attention to detail, meticulous planning and delivering fun sessions are just three parts of the service you will experience.

Stephanie also extends her experience to special populations and in particular injuries of all natures, for example knee / hip replacement and joint dislocation rehab through to exercise for arthritic conditions and the common ankle sprain.

Where necessary Stephanie communicates with other medical professionals, coaches and specialist trainers to ensure the client is on track with goals. Jon Clayton – Personal Trainer

Jon is a former professional sportsman, having played football for Bristol City and he has been working in the fitness industry for over ten years.  He has a wide range of sporting interests, and also was a junior golf champion playing off a handicap of two.

This first-hand experience of professional level competitive sport has proved to be invaluable in helping Jon offer individually-tailored programmes for his clients.  He has gained direct experience of dealing with the rehabilitation of injuries and is able to help his clients achieve their fitness goals, whether they are to add muscle mass, lose fat or improve overall fitness levels.

Jon is also fully-qualified to offer nutritional advice and support.  His key focus when training clients is to ensure that they achieve their personal aims, see results in fun and engaging sessions, whether these be outside, at their home or in JW Fitness Solutions’ private gym in Abbots Leigh.

Giles O’Brien – Personal Trainer

Giles O’Brien has vast experience in the health and fitness industry, having worked as a personal trainer for over 7 years and completed over 6,000 individual training sessions. His sessions are specifically tailored to meet the needs of his clients, enabling them to achieve their maximum physical performance.

Giles has helped clients develop their fitness for skiing, racket sports and endurance events. It is in this latter category that Giles’s skill sets stand out, as he is a British Triathlon Coach and has personally competed at half-ironman distance. With over 20 years experience of cycling on the road, mountains and in time trials, Giles is an outstanding athlete and relishes the opportunity to get his clients as fit as possible. Faith Toogood – Dietitian

Faith Toogood is an experienced and fully qualified dietitian, registered with the Health Professions Council. She completed her Master of Nutrition degree at the University of Nottingham and has since worked in Germany, Cuba and the UK in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

Faith is currently working for the NHS in Bristol as a specialist dietitian in the field of weight management and weight loss surgery. Although weight management forms the majority of her private work too, Faith also sees clients wanting help with a variety of issues including weight gain, irritable bowel syndrome, PCOS and general healthy eating advice for those wanting to look after skin, hair, nails and do what they can to combat the ageing process!

Raewyn Bremner – Massage Therapist

Raewyn is a registered massage therapist and graduate of a full time, three year course in advanced massage techniques, from British Columbia, Canada.

Since graduating in 2007 she has gained a wealth of experience working in Whistler, Canada, treating both amateur and professional athletes at Whistler Physiotherapy clinics and a resort health spa. More recently Raewyn worked as head masseuse at a five star luxury fly-in resort on an island near Alaska. Raewyn’s experience includes treating elite athletes’ injuries and providing soft tissue maintenance, easing chronic pains and the rehabilitation of whiplash victims and repetitive strain sufferers. She has provided pre- and post-natal massage and stress management treatments and is also able to provide many types of relaxation and rejuvenation massages.

Having recently moved to Bristol, Raewyn is very keen to get involved in health and fitness here and is currently offering free assessment consultations. Besides spending her time building a practice and getting familiar with ‘the south west’, Raewyn enjoys bike riding, yoga, running, snowboarding, badminton, tennis, pilates, circuits, hiking and (hopefully) learning to surf this summer!
